Gouda made in Holland with raw cow’s milk and aged for a minimum of 24 months.
Boerenkaas accounts for less than 2% of Holland’s gouda production. Some saponification creates small salt crystals in the flesh of this iconic Lowlands cheese. After 24 months ageing it becomes sweet and crumbly, making it an excellent snacking cheese. Also good for grating and melting.
