Frantoia Olive Oil
Frantoia is a blend of Sicily’s three best olive varieties for making oil: biancolilla, nocellara del belice and cerasuola. It has plenty of flavour, fruity and well-rounded, and makes a noticeable, tasty addition to almost any dish. It has very little pepperiness or bitterness.
We have been using this delicious oil every day in our home kitchen for more than twenty years.
We also sell three ‘Lorenzo’ olive oils, each made from just one of the olive varieties listed above. These excellent oils have distinctive flavours which pair very well with certain foods. Frantoia, on the other hand, is a blend of these varieties, resulting in a rounded flavour which which offers huge versatility. Both are produced in Sicily by the Barbera family, with an expertise developed over five generations running what is now one of the world’s most highly-decorated olive oil producers.
This oil surpasses the requirements for extra virgin status, with the olives being hand-harvested and pressed on the same day, for maximum flavour and nutrition. It is an unfiltered oil, which allows it to retain a freshness, like it has just been pressed, even after several months in the bottle. Being an unfiltered oil also means it has higher levels of antioxidant polyphenols.
Available in 500ml bottle, 1L bottle or 3L can.
